Energy Transitions
Prof. Samuel Gyamfi
Theme lead
Climate change and other environmental as well as social impacts of energy exploration and consumption are pushing societies to transition from the current use of fossil fuels to renewable and other cleaner and sustainable energy sources that will bring global carbon emissions to zero. Promoting research therefore in how to achieve this transition is critical. The economic and social implications of this transition need to be well researched to provide evidence-based information that will feed into policy formulations to drive the transition agenda. Renewable energy and other sustainable energy forms that can drive the agenda require in-depth research.
