Prof. Samuel Gyamfi is an expert in the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sector with a wealth of experience from over 15 years of practice. His main area of interest is in Utility Demand Side Management but he also has interest and experience in Electricity Demand Response Assessment and Modelling, Energy Economics and Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy for Developing Countries and Energy Life Cycle Assessment.
He is a member of Engineers Australia and International Solar Energy Society. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Dr Prince Antwi-Agyei holds a PhD in Environmental Sanitation and Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is an experienced Researcher and Consultant with a demonstrated history of working in Industry and Academia. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana. He is skilled in Sustainable Development, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Rural and Urban Development, and Environmental Awareness and sustainability. Specific areas of interest are: Faecal Sludge Management, Solid and hazardous waste engineering and management, Health Risks Assessment, Low-cost sanitation options, Wastewater management, Rural and Small-Town Water Supply, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment. Dr Antwi-Agyei has performed several leadership roles, including being the Ghana lead for several projects, including the QUISS Project (Quality Indicators of Shared Sanitation Facilities) and the Urban Sanitation Costs and Low-income Consumers’ willingness-to-pay project under the Urban Sanitation Research Initiative in Ghana, Kenya and Bangladesh. He is the Research Coordinator and Environmental and Social Safeguard Specialist for the Regional Centre of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES) at UENR. Recently, he was a panellist for the Guardian (UK) to discuss how to turn wastewater from nuisance to resource as part of activities marking 2017 World Water Day. He is also the board chair for Trimark Aquaculture Business Centre, A Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement between Trimark and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA). He was also a committee member constituted by the Minister of Environment, Science and Technology to assess the extent of the problem of liquid waste management in Accra and Tema metropolitan areas and prescribe immediate and long-term solutions to the problem. Dr Antwi-Agyei possesses strong writing skills with several peer-reviewed publications and is a reviewer for several journals, including the Journal of Water, Sanitation and Health, the Journal of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Development, BMC Public Health, Waterlines, and Scientific African. He has over 17 years of professional experience and has worked in several countries, including Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Malawi and the United Kingdom. He has also collaborated with several organisations including the UNHCR, UNICEF, London School of Tropical Medicine (UK), IMC Worldwide (UK), the Aquaya Institute (USA), Eawag/Sandec (Switzerland), Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor (WSUP – UK), Opportunity International (UK), and TREND Group (Ghana)

Samuel Akowuah Okyereh is a civil engineer and researcher in environmental engineering. My work focuses on how climate, land use, energy, and water systems affect each other. I am especially interested in how land use, energy production, and water resources are connected and finding solutions that protect the environment and improve people’s lives. I am passionate about reducing the environmental impact of energy changes. My research looks at how we can switch to sustainable energy sources while protecting nature. I have experience working in interdisciplinary research teams with experts from different continents, collaborating on solutions to global environmental challenges.

Dr. Nana Osei Ackerson is a Lecturer in environmental engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering, MSc in Environmental Resources Management, MS in Civil Engineering, and PhD in Environmental Engineering. He worked on the Wellcome Trust funded project, SNOWS (Scientists Networked for Outcomes from Water and Sanitation) Consortium, as a Project Manager. Also, he was the Assistant City Facilitator for the European Commission project, SWITCH (Sustainable Water management Improves Tomorrow’s Cities’ Health) project. Currently, he is the co-Principal Investigator of the WaterAid, UK research-funded project on occupational health and safety of sanitation workers. He has participated in several international research conferences and workshops. Dr. Ackerson’s research focuses on water supply, sanitation and hygiene; fate and transport of micropollutants in water; risk assessment; and disinfection by-product formation in drinking water. He is opened to interdisciplinary research collaboration.

Dr. Felix Amankwah Diawuo is currently a lecturer with the Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) Sunyani-Ghana. At UENR, he is also a research leader at the Regional Centre of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES). Previously, he was a Research Affiliate at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), California, United States (USA). His research interests include clean fuel and energy technologies, supply and demand side management strategies, energy policy, electrical power systems and sustainable cities. He has published several articles in these areas in different reputable international journals. He has participated in a range of energy projects sponsored by the European Commission, the World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft for Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). He holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems under the MIT Portugal PhD program from the Technical University of Lisbon (IST) and has also completed the EIT KIC InnoEnergy PhD school program. He has a double degree from the Erasmus Mundus European Master program in Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems (SELECT) from IST-Portugal and KTH-Sweden. His bachelor education in Electrical and Electronic Engineering was received at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.

Romeo Tweneboah Koduah is a seasoned Communications and Community Outreach Specialist with extensive experience in crafting and implementing impactful communication strategies for environmental and sustainability projects. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and public outreach, Romeo has led communications for high-profile initiatives, enhancing project visibility and fostering community involvement.
Currently, Romeo serves as the Senior Technical Officer and Project Communications Specialist at the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES). In this capacity, he spearheads outreach efforts, develops strategic communication plans, and coordinates international collaborations that amplify project goals. His expertise in designing and executing stakeholder workshops and community engagement initiatives has been pivotal in ensuring that complex project objectives are communicated effectively.
Romeo’s role as Environment and Communications Expert for UNEP’s Climate Smart Agriculture Project showcased his ability to integrate scientific knowledge into relatable, actionable communication frameworks. His leadership in communications projects for organizations such as the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES), UNEP, the African Development Bank (AfDB) under the SUSTAINDAM project, BMZ-funded Solar-Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) initiative, Climate Compatible Growth, EU Horizon's EPIC Africa project, and the MoNAL project for the University of Bochum further highlights his proficiency in digital content creation, public engagement, and building partnerships that resonate with diverse audiences.

Ing. Emmanuel Yeboah Asuamah is a Research Fellow at the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR). With over nine years of post-qualification experience in research and teaching, he specializes in energy systems, renewable energy technologies, and sustainable energy management.
He holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Management, a BSc in Renewable Energy Engineering, and a BTech in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His expertise spans renewable energy system design, installation, energy policy, and planning, with proficiency in utilizing modern tools for the design and assessment of energy systems.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, Ing. Asuamah has provided consulting services for organizations such as USAID, UNICEF, the African Union Commission, Economic Consulting Associates (ECA), KITE, and Ghana’s Ministry of Energy. His professional experience integrates academia with practical industry engagements, where he has contributed as a part-time engineer and independent energy consultant.

Dr. Benjamin Batinge is a Research Fellow at the University of Energy and Natural Resources’ Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES). He also worked as a Climate Finance and Policy Consultant with Sustainable Solutions for Africa (SSA). Dr Batinge has previously worked as a Climate Finance Consultant for the United Nations’ (UN) Climate Technology Centre Network and as a Senior Researcher with DNV GL’s Energy Transition unit in Oslo, Norway. Additionally, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and a visiting lecturer at Mozambique’s Eduardo Mondlane University. He has provided consulting services to a variety of organisations, including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Liberian government. Dr. Batinge holds a PhD in Public and Development Management from Stellenbosch University, an MPhil in System Dynamics from the University of Bergen, and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Ghana. His research interests include energy transitions, energy access in developing countries, renewable energy and assessment of energy access, climate change and its effects on infrastructure, and sustainable development.

“Eric is a Junior Assistant Registrar representing the Registrar at the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES).
He holds a Master of Commerce “MCom” – Human Resources Option (with thesis) degree from the University for Development Studies, Tamale and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Institute of Professional Studies, Accra.
Appointed in the Registrar’s Offices in 2014 of the University, he was subsequently posted to the School Natural Resources (Dean’s Office). Eric held the fort for the Registrar in the School for about five (5) years. While there, he was the secretary to the Deans and had oversight responsibility for six (6) Academic Departments. As Secretary, he coordinated and recorded minutes of School Board/Departmental meetings. Additionally, persevering Eric served all sub-committees and ad-hoc committees of the School.
Prior to joining the University of Energy and Natural Resources, he worked with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology as a volunteer.
Eric also worked with the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the Ghana Education Service before furthering his education.
Eric is a self-motivated and proactive administrator with passion to developing himself by exploring the skill in the policy and practice of human resource management and administration especially in Ghana’s higher education sector.
He is also keen on providing the necessary support for institutional growth imbibing the philosophy of “brightening the corner” aim at helping the organisation to achieve its goals.”
